I am going to tread lightly with this WSJ piece Who Sleeps Better at Night? I will say that one cannot under estimate the power and need to a good nights rest. Having now been through a 1 1/2 of raising triplets I can speak from experience that without sleep I was a totally different person those few 6 months.
It makes sense to work things out with your partner for a variety of reasons but most importantly it looks like it will improve both the health of yourself and your partner.
